On August 24, 2019 Pack Your Back was proud to sponsor the Z92.7 8th Annual Back 2 School Rally which was also sponsored by Park Place Hair Studio. This event was held at the Park Place Hair Studio (4236 Miller Road Flint, MI 48507) from 11:00am until 2:00pm. “They have the same heart as my organization. Whatever there’s a need FILL it or help in anyway.” Said barber Dwayne Harrington Sr. who is the owner of Park Place Hair studio when we asked him why he decided to partner with Pack Your Back for this event.
This event was a fun day for kids K-12 to get haircuts or shampoo/styles, their nails polished, and backpack filled with school supplies! There were also hot dogs and drinks available throughout the day. “I knew when I was a little boy my mom couldn’t afford haircuts or school supplies, so I wanted to give to kids K-12 and help them and their parents” said Dwayne Harrington Sr. when we asked him why he decided to organize this event.
At the event they had 25 volunteers helping to pass out hotdogs, back packs, polishing nails, cutting hair, or assisting in any capacity that was needed. They ended up giving over 60 services and 150 Back packs filled with school supplies! “Seeing the smiles on the children faces when they received their hair service and back packs.” Dwayne Harrington Sr. said when we asked him what his favorite part of the event was.
“To be the genuinely lending hand to people in need.” Dwayne Harrington Sr. said when ended with the question, why are events like this important to the community? We couldn’t agree more with what Dwayne had to say! Overall, this event is a great way to lend a genuine had to families in need. Keep up the good work and keep lending your hands out to families in need!

Kindhumans is a positive movement of respect, understanding, and small conscious decisions with a big positive impact. We are building a community based on these ideals. As citizens and consumers, we are more empowered with choice than ever before. At the same time, we have less trust in the products we consume and the companies that make them. We want to make the right choices, but in order to do that we need accurate information. The Kindhumans movement aims to inform and simplify consumer decision. Together, through our purchasing power, we can change the status quo and demand alternatives for a more balanced and sustainable lifestyle.
